So new year, new look for your home!
Wouldn’t you love to revamp your kitchen without the hassle of ripping out the kitchen sink? You’d be amazing with the way new lighting can transform your space! Luckily, you don’t need to take on a full renovation to add some flair to your kitchen and give it a completely different feel. All you need to let us do is install a new light or two! We thought we’d put together some options to capture your imagination and inspire you.
1. Kitchen Pendant Lights
This simple arrangement works well in any type of kitchen. There are a vast amount of choice depending on your personal style and the house. For example in a period property you might be better off with something understated to compliment the age of the house whereas the skies the limit with design for a more modern look.
Usually fitted in rows of three pendants, it’s important to hire a professional electrician to complete your installation. You want to make sure the kitchen lights are spaced evenly and hung at the same height. (or at different heights if that’s the look you’re going for!).

2. Hanging Edison Bulbs
These brilliant lights add a touch of vintage to any kitchen. We’d recommend installing hanging Edison bulbs above your kitchen island as a feature and instant room changer. Edison bulbs spaced evenly above the island and allow for a symmetrical effect and ensure a clear line of sight through your space.
3. Lighting Under Kitchen Worktop
Possibly one of the quickest and easiest ways to instantly transform the feel of your kitchen! Why not install lighting underneath your worktops? Having this extra lighting will bring a new focus to your kitchen and make the whole space look modern and bright.
4. Under Cabinet LED Lighting
So lighting in your kitchen doesn’t have to just be above the worktop! LED lighting under the cabinets creates a brilliant effect that’s also a practical lighting source. It also allows the floors to stay lit during the night. Like a nightlight for your kitchen!
Always get a professional to install these lights and hook them up to a switch to make it easier to turn them on and off. You could also use kitchen plinth lights to achieve a similar effect.

5. Lighting in Cabinets
Personally we think this is a must for any kitchen. The subtle effect of cabinet lights create a warm, cosy atmosphere when they are the only lights on and the effect is stunning. Traditionally fitted in glass wall cabinets, this is an easy trick to transform your kitchen.
6. Lamps and Open Shelving
If you have a smaller kitchen and have decided to stay away from wall units so it doesn’t look so cluttered you have the luxury of open shelving. This can be home to lamps that shed light on the dishes and glassware stored on the shelves. We can also add downlights in the ceiling, adding some extra brightness. This is one of our favourite kitchen lighting ideas, as it really makes the most of the space and enhances the whole area with a lovely effect.
